Some of the code in the synopsis isn't indented, so it's not formatted as
code when converted to HTML. This makes it incredibly difficult to read
because it's not wrapped in a <pre> block so it all ends up on one line.
See attached patch. The large block comments in the synopsis aren't
particularly easy to read either, but that's a different issue.
