It looks like the problem happens if the latest Mozilla::CA is installed. There's some discussion about the problem here: https://github.com/gisle/mozilla-ca/pull/5
The problem was probably triggered when yahoo started to redirect http://yahoo.com to a https URL. So probably the easiest fix for you is to find another (http-only) test URL.
