Subject: Can't install Search::Query on Mac OS X Yosemite (Perl 5.18.2)
Date: Mon, 21 Dec 2015 16:34:37 -0800

Your "Search::Query" module is required for another module I need to install, but my new Mac doesn't want to install it. It gets to "/usr/bin/make -- OK" but then fails in the testing phase. It looks like the tests keep getting "Search::Query::Dialect::Native=HASH" objects when they're expecting a string. I've no clue how to proceed. This is on Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), running Perl 5.18.2. Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to provide. (Full error text attached.)

More info: it turns out that Search::Query 0.304 installs OK, but 0.305 fails. Similarly, Search::Tools 1.002 is fine, but 1.003 fails to install. On Mon, Dec 21, 2015 at 4:34 PM, Bugs in Search-Query via RT < bug-Search-Query@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

I see similar failure on Linux with Perl 5.18.2 so we can assume it is not specific to OS X. http://www.cpantesters.org/cpan/report/5decca30-10eb-11e5-afdd-70c556f10363 I am investigating.

analysis.cpantesters.org thinks that the CPAN Testers failures happen only if older namespace::autoclean versions are installed. See: http://analysis.cpantesters.org/solved?distv=Search-Query-0.305#mod%3Anamespace%3A%3Aautoclean

I can confirm what Slaven said: I just updated to the latest namespace::autoclean, and both Search::Tools v1.003 and Search::Query v0.305 were able to be installed. (I'm not sure whether I had an earlier version of namespace::autoclean installed before, or if it was absent.) Thanks for running that down. I will release a new version with minimum 0.28 namespace::autoclean, next week.
thanks again. Version 0.306 just uploaded to PAUSE.
