Subject: Error message: (in cleanup) Internal error: could not get STATE from IPC::Run
Date: Tue, 22 Sep 2015 16:34:30 +0200
To: bug-Statistics-R [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Pär Larsson <par.larsson.medbio [...] gmail.com>
Hi! I keep getting the error message "(in cleanup) Internal error: could not get STATE from IPC::Run" when using the Statistics::R module . Not sure what the problem is. Otherwise everything seems to work fine. Kind regards, Pär Larsson -- Pär Larsson, PhD Clinical scientist, Bioinformatician Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Genetics / Pathology Umeå University Hospital 901 87 Umeå par.g.larsson@vll.se par.larsson@medbio.umu.se +46 90 785 2802
Hi Pär, Thanks for the report. I think the problem should be solved if you install a more recent version of IPC::Run. But please let me know what version of IPC::Run you are using so I can update the module dependencies. Cheers, Florent
Hi again, Actually, I managed to reproduce your issue on my system, and believe I have found a fix. Could you please check out the development version of Statistics::R at https://github.com/bricas/statistics-r and confirm that this works for you? Thanks, Florent

Hi again! Now I can't seem to reproduce it! The error message has been a constant for about a year, and now it's not there...! The only change that comes to mind is that I installed Module::Install to be able to test the github code that you supplied. But that should not affect anything, right? Question: do you know if it is possible to edit the bug report messages that are posted on the web? Probably should't have included my email addresses at the bottom of my emails.... anticipating spam... //Pär Show quoted text

Hi Pär, Sorry about your email address, I believe it is here forever. The bug was very hard to grasp, with seemingly innocuous changes in the code that made it go away or appear. Since I could reproduce it and fix it, I trust you will be fine with the patch as well. Look out for the new version of Statistics::R, 0.34, which I have just released. Cheers, Florent
