Dependency Text::XLogfile is problematic

Text::XLogfile looks quite unmaintained. It is not installable out-of-the box on many systems, see http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Text-XLogfile%200.05 , probably because of the bug described in this four-year-old bug report: https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=66992 Maybe you can take over the maintenance of this module, or find another solution?

Thanks for telling me about this problem, I wasn't aware of it. I'd agree to take over the module. However, I see the module has quite a few comaintainers (DOY, ETHER, FLORA, STEVAN), and SARTAK has three releases this year (last one in June). Is anyone currently trying to adopt this module, or did anyone talk to SARTAK directly about it? If not, I'll mail SARTAK and ask for comaint. -- Marius Gavrilescu

As far as I know, there's no platform where CPAN adoption attempts are documented. So ... Show quoted text

I didn't know about the bug until just now -- I'd received comaint after its creation. I'll take a look at it tonight. (In the future, when there are longstanding bugs that need to be resolved, a poke on the bug itself can remind the maintainers that it exists.)
