Hi Ewan,
The Activity Detail sorts by multiple criteria to try to make sense of the stream of activity. The initial sort for tickets covered by the query you select is by: queue, status, ticket id, actor, notes. Then in the final output, each transaction is evaluated and displayed in time order, so that's where the date sort is applied.
