Looks like this isn't something introduced with 1.42, but had been reported for the previous version: https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=100505 I'll still look into fixing it anyway :-)

No, the sprintf warning is a different issue, and manifests in every Text::Diff release now that perl has started warning about it (5.22.0). The issue described in this ticket here is more than a warning.
