Subject: Many tar warnings when untarring this distribution
As in this build.log: https://s3.amazonaws.com/archive.travis-ci.org/jobs/68711233/log.txt Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/P/PH/PHRED/Archive-Zip-1.48.tar.gz ... This is caused by BSD tar incompatibilities. Please upgrade your packaging tools. I think this is a problem when tar is set to default to POSIX rather than gnu mode, which is default on some distros I believe (e.g. opensuse). Perhaps calling tar with --format=gnu would resolve the issue. Many thanks for your work on this module.

For context, these directories cause builds to fail on windows: http://perlmonks.org/?node_id=1133747
Build tools upgraded in 1.49.
We still see this issue with the 1.49 release:

This is the log from a build we run on an CentOS5 box:

Ok. I'm at a loss what to try next, I updated every module in my build toolchain to the latest version, with perl 5.22. On Wed, Aug 12, 2015 at 1:57 PM, Gisle_Aas via RT <bug-Archive-Zip@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

What are the values of `uname -a`, `which tar` and `tar --version`? See one of the earlier comments about the different modes and variants of tar.
