Thanks for the report. I cannot replicate the failed test under MacOS 10.9 on any version of Perl from 5.10.1 to 5.21.8. Could you post the entire report for t/numwords.t to help me attempt to track down the problem? Thank-you, Damian

Many thanks, again! I have just released 1.899, which I believe solves the problem (it turned out to be unwanted floating point conversions of really big numbers). Let me know if you still see the issue in the new release. I really appreciated your help in tracking down this problem. Damian
