Subject: Make technical notes about bundled modules, and how to build without, more prominent
I am building Debian packages of perl modules, and didn't find any mention on the BUILDING_AS_PACKAGE env-var in the main documentation (ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm, neither in the INSTALL file. However it was in the README.packaging which is unfortunately not very prominent in the CPAN frontends. The instructions in INSTALL and README.packaging differ. Also, I'm missing a small description on why bundling in existing modules is the best solution so far. It probably is, I would just have a small notice, so I wouldn't have to wonder. Thanks!
I think you understand the process better than I do. Feel like making a patch and pull-request against the EUMM docs on github?

README.packaging is the correct one, it should probably be merged into the INSTALL file. Show quoted text

Bundling can be a useful default for users on broken systems, it's not useful at all for packagers. Leon
