This got fixed here: https://github.com/maddingue/Sys-Syslog/commit/d7f6bb136f2a289a96514a54532ee41238904355 The repo isn't mentioned in the documentation, but is linked to from the MetaCPAN page for example: https://metacpan.org/pod/Sys::Syslog
