Hello,
I use 'ssh' from an 'aixterm' attached to a IBM RS/6000 AIX 5.2 system.
I usually use this to 'ssh' to multiple Debian servers. I build my own
Perl and use this for all development/production activities. I tested
some of the examples using the default Debian Perl successfully. So I
tried to install 'X11::Protocol' from CPAN and it failed. So I manually
installed the product and then neither the default Perl or my Perl could
run the examples. Either via CPAN or manually installing your product,
the '.Xauthority' was replaced with a file with only one entry.
I suggest that if '.Xauthority' exists, that the install not replace the
existing file. Once I restored the original '.Xauthority' all worked
correctly.
