Subject: testLsl() may fail with German locale
"ls" under a German locale may print "insgesamt ..." instead of "total ..." (seen on a Debian/wheezy system), causing a test case in DebugStatementsTest.t to fail. The test case is also quite Unix-specific, using "ls" and assume that /etc and /etc/motd exist, and will probably fail on non-Unix systems.
