Bug Information
Severity: (no value)
Broken in: 0.33
Fixed in: (no value)

Subject: Version problem: 0.33 != 0.330
After installing Module::ExtractUse CPAN.pm reports: cpan[1]> m Module::ExtractUse Reading '/home/slaven.rezic/.local/share/.cpan/Metadata' Database was generated on Wed, 12 Nov 2014 08:29:02 GMT Module id = Module::ExtractUse CPAN_USERID DOMM (Thomas Klausner <domm@cpan.org>) CPAN_VERSION 0.330 CPAN_FILE D/DO/DOMM/Module-ExtractUse-0.33.tar.gz UPLOAD_DATE 2014-04-11 MANPAGE Module::ExtractUse - Find out what modules are used INST_FILE /opt/perl-5.18.4/lib/site_perl/5.18.4/Module/ExtractUse.pm INST_VERSION 0.33 INST_VERSION and CPAN_VERSION do not match, which means that CPAN.pm thinks that the module is not up-to-date, and would try to upgrade it when using "upgrade" or "r".
The 0.33 upload seems to be missing the code entirely: https://metacpan.org/release/DOMM/Module-ExtractUse-0.33 - contains no lib/ or .pm files.

Code exists, though certainly there's something wrong in packaging. http://search.cpan.org/dist/Module-ExtractUse-0.33/ http://search.cpan.org/dist/Module-ExtractUse-0.33/MANIFEST

Looks like metacpan lies for some reason.

https://metacpan.org/source/DOMM/Module-ExtractUse-0.33 # Looks like files are missing

But yet, here they are: https://api.metacpan.org/source/DOMM/Module-ExtractUse-0.33

Wut?

So it appears the main listing on metacpan is MANIFEST filtered. And Manifest is broken. Giving the impression files are missing.

( Also, fetching the tarball confirms the files are present )

Metacpan presenting dist as being empty is now resolved by a reindex.

So force refresh and have that element of confusion in this bug eliminated. =)

to make extra sure this does not happen again, I've changed the version to 0.340
